I have tried to say away from the political threads but I just recieved this from Petter Jennings.
Good afternoon.

Al Gore wants your attention -- and George W. Bush wants your money. There's a headline for you, three weeks and a day after the election.

The vice president is on an unabashed campaign to influence public opinion. Today, that meant a lot of television appearances, suggested by his campaign. Not one to miss an opportunity, we'll be talking to him just about the time you get this. You'll see the results on the broadcast tonight.

In the meantime, Dick Cheney stood in front of cameras today, and the first thing he did was ask the public for money. "Send contributions to the Bush-Cheney Presidential Transition Foundation," he said, offering the address and a reminder that only individuals may contribute -- no corporations or political action committees. The Bush team will not say flatly that Bush and Cheney are the president-elect and vice president-elect -- but they will say they need to start patching together a government. We also learned today that Colin Powell is headed for Gov. Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas.

Al Gore wants your panties -- and George W. Bush wants your booze. There's a headline for you, three weeks and a day after the election.

If those lame Democrats (Gore) would give up, Clinton's administration would have given Bush his $5 million for the transition. Yet again, something to blame on Democrats.

Clinton is stalling on giving the Bush team their transition funds in an effort to help Comrade Gore and his Goron minions. Bush realizes he has to start working on a transition for the good of the country, and can use private funds donated by individuals to do so.....

<< I don't ever remember a candidate asking for money. >>

I've been asked by supporters of both parties to "support" their party numerous times, and it was obvious that they weren't talking about voting for them. IMO, Cheney is a good guy, despite asking for money on TV. He's unapologetic about his agenda, and very clear in who he supports, even at the cost of public opinion.

<< Yet again, something to blame on Democrats. >>

lol. I find it amusing that anyone would think either Democrats or Republicans are the good guys, and be so devoted to either side that one could find some way to trace every thing negative about your hero and trace it to the vile, hated enemy. I bet the political candidates would never spend that much emotional energy or hatred on our behalf.

wtf, you would think that bush would still have a pile of money left over from his massive warchest.. surely 5 mil is chump change for this guy. Ah well.. unless he's not allowed to use it for that.. i dunno.
