"Our country has accepted obligations that are difficult to fulfill and would be dishonorable to abandon," said the president, who led the nation to war in Iraq in a first term marked by terrorist attacks on the United States.
Cus you know how much we love peace with honor ;)

Even though you flip-flopped on your diatribe to leave this place, that line was funny. :)

Heil Bush: " Our country has accepted obligations that are difficult to fulfill and would be dishonorable to abandon"

Accepted obligations? It MADE/FORCED those obligations he speaks of. Dishonorable to abandon? You mean, Bushwhack, that you will forge on with your pig-headed, air-brain, ambitions of conquering poor, handicapped nations such as Iraq?

Heil Bush: "All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: the United States will not ignore your oppress, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you."

The US will not ignore other tyranny because its testosterone-fueled warhawks want to be the ultimate tyrannt! Pot - kettle - black, anyone?

What a fvcktard, brain-washer, pied piper that Heil Bush is!

Rehnquist entered the stage with the help of a walking cane. A breathing tube or device to help him speak was visible beneath his scarf, and his voice was raspy as he asked the president to repeat after him.

Emperor Palpatine swearing in Darth Vader?

Does it mention the beret he was wearing? I thought all things French were bad.

Getting messages from beyond the stars and deciphering them for all of us to obey is hard work. Bush is working hard. He's a hard worker.

He's a fraud. His followers, dupes.

Funny how life (Bush's power regime) replicates art (Star War's emporer power regime)!

a Democrats letter to our President-

Congratulations on winning your second term. I want to say I fully accept your victory and do not doubt that you will do what you believe is best for our country.

Here are the three issues that concern me most.

1. I want the phrase-"All men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights.." to be the policy of my country. That includes gays, non-citizens, and detainees, as far as I'm concerned. In times of war or crisis I can understand a little leeway on this, for a time, but ultimately I don't want any waffling on this.

2. the deficit- I believe the current deficits are potentially ruinous to our country, if they continue. I know you have a plan of sorts, but if it turns out not to work, I hope you will do what is necessary to fix this.

3. soldiers, police and other law enforcement, fire and rescue, teachers, doctors.. I want all of these to be justly compensated and the best trained and equipped they can possibly be. And I want veterans to be well cared for.

Thanks,
Tom

Or Independence Day where the pesky terrorist/hero Will Smith against overwhelming odds manages to sneak into the evil occupiers main city and nuke it.

ABC commentators George Will and David Brooks on the security level (compared it to a military event):

"DC just isn't that unsafe. This isn't attractive."

"How does this demonstrate democracy to the rest of the world?"

Oh, and the imperial limo sped through the protest zone. So much for reaching out to the other side.

Such a good speech, brought tears to my eyes. We must fight tyranny around the world. Iran, NK, China...

Saying "liberty" or "freedom" eleventy-billion times in the span of a few minutes is not a good speech. It's propaganda.

Wow, we're going to fight China now? That sure sucks for us. Not to mention the "...", that has me worried. It's like a never ending battle to stamp out tyranny by forcefully invading, overthrowing and replacing the governments of sovereign countries. Let me just call up the armed forces, our well armed ambassadors of peace and democracy and love and M-16s and 500 lb smart bombs and cruise missles, and send them right over.

We need to be the promoter of democracy for the entire world. The only way to do that is for us to fight tyranny around the world. So watch out Putin, we are coming for you too!
