Bush Speaks Spanish Well?

I'm just watching TV right now, as both Bush and Kerry are in town doing their respective things(Bush is at a small business conference, Kerry is throwing a free concert with Bon Jovi), and while talking, Bush is making a couple of jokes with the owner of a tortilla making company, but they're in Spanish, and the Spanish is clearer and for a lack of a better term, "more" alive than his English. I knew Bush was bilingual, but when did he get so good at Spanish(and why is it better than his English)?

Bush has all his spansih fed to him by advisors i beleive...from the way he speaks it its clear hes doing an americanized version of it and I personally think it sounds REALLY rehearsed like kids in spanish class that have to remeber a speech for their final project. Thats just my opinion though having grown up in southern AZ (south tucson) where about 80% of the people's first language is Spanish.
Why is it better? because he doesn't try and use his own "made up words" in spanish liek he can in english. Spanish is a stricter language than english i think and thus its harder to screw up words. Theres still times that hes referred to things in the "you" form when he sould have done the "him/her" form and vice versa, but yeah for the most part all the bigger adjectives and nouns are so defined that hes got no toher way to abuse them.

Bush has been fluent in Spanish since he was a child and learned it in school. He became better while he was working in the oil industry.

He's been speaking spanish longer than most of you have been speaking at all.
