Riproarin:

That is simply the "potentiality" argument, and is no more logical that Halik's tongue in cheek suggestion that we extend fetal rights back to all women who *may* choose to conceive at some point in the future.

The law, by itself, limited to a narrow scope, is not a bad one (a la Scott/Laci Peterson). Of course, it will never end at that, will it? And will of course be subject to interpretation by all, and eventually will become a rallying cry for both sides, just like the original decision. Abortion is an issue that will never be resolved.

I think that in general, people tend to care much too much about how others are living their lives, and don't pay enough attention to how they themselves are living it. Just my opinion, which of course, just goes to prove the statement. 🙂

BTW, are there ever any moderates who ever post in these forums? Every topic always has very polarized responses. Good or bad. Right or wrong. Stereotypical reactions of the right or left. No offense intended, just curious. Maybe they just don't feel strongly enough to post anything? 😛

EDIT: spelling

Define "moderates".

Define "right or left".

This is one of the most idiotic messages I have ever read. You think killing human life is a liberty and call people nazis for opposing this form of murder.
Life begins at conception.
Abortion is murder. It's primitive.

I felt my response was moderate. Although, all things are relative. I'm sure it could be construed as liberal OR conservative.

I suppose the portion of abortion rights that angers me the most...is the "Its a women's right to choose". It is, in effect, ONLY the woman's right to choose.

Suppose I impregnated a girl and she wanted to abort the baby. Assuming that I was not up to the task of being a father on my own, and based on my personal believes, I would want her to give birth to the baby and put it up for adoption. The child is in fact half mine, so I feel I should have some say in the matter. But legally...I have none. Only the woman decides the fate of the child.

On the flip side, suppose I did not want the child and she gave birth to it. I would still be forced to pay child support for the child for 18 years. (Of course, the defies my actual beliefs and morals, but I'm just trying to make a point)

You're a man, you're just a pig and all you do is oppress women (I'm serious, I've had women who've said almost exactly that). Even if you personally don't, your gender does.

Heh. My girlfriend is slightly more liberal than I am, and points out that I wouldn't have to carry the baby for 9 months. Of course, I would do just that if it were in fact possible. Unfortunately, god didn't intend it that way...I suppose if he did we wouldn't even need women in the first place! (j/k) 😀

But I like women! They're all soft and they smell nice and they cook for me on occasion. 🙁

A popular bar had a new robotic bartender installed.

A fellow came in for a drink and the robot asked him, What's your IQ?
The man replied, 130.

So the robot proceeded to make conversation about physics, astronomy, investments, insurance, and so on.
The man listened intently and thought, This is really cool.

Another gent came in for a drink and the robot asked him, What's your IQ? The man responded, 100.
So the robot started talking about football, baseball, and so on.

The man thought to himself, Wow, this is really cool.

A third guy came in to the bar. As with the others, the robot asked
him, What's your IQ? The man replied, 70.

The robot then said, "So, are you Democrats really going to nominate John Kerry?"

LOL........

actually most democrats are "high functioning" just very confused usually suffering from some sort of complex

LOL... either this guy is all fcuked up with his priorities or he's a hypocrite. He doesn't want to kill unborn fetus, but it's ok to kill grown man/woman (death penalty, ring a bell?)

The studies I've seen show that the more educated you are, the more likely you are to be a Democrat. I would guess there's some coorelation between education and IQ.

you're telling me you can't tell the difference between a state sponsored execution of the worst kind of criminal and the private criminal action of an individual against the innocent?

Yea, it is wrong to take away a person's right to kill another.
Tell me Zero, do you donate money or time to help those who choose to have the child or do you plan on adopting one of those unwanted children? no, I woudl rather people don't go out having sex every night unless they are willing to accept the consequences. If you don't want children, you shouldn't be having sex. Simple enough? I don't see what the problem is.
You people who support the killing of an innocent unborn child sicken me.
Supporting the womens right to choose is not supporting abortion. In fact most of us would hope they chose to have the childIf you can explain that a bit more for me, I would appreciate it because I don't know what you're talking about.

I wish someone had aborted you people way back when. Just stick a knife right through your brain. Keep poking around in there until you die.
Of course we should just regard that statement as an anger management problem you may have as it's obvious that you being one who believes in the sanctity of life would never commit such an act yourself I was being ironic intentionally. Of course I don't actually want that, but I was showing how much I despise people who do condone this terrible action.

Don't most welfare recipients claim to be liberal?

So, does this mean that women who smoke or drink will be charged with, minimally, contributing to the delinquency of a minor?
