Bush pokes fun at himself during black tie dinner

From CNN: link
Bush put on a slide show, calling it the "White House Election-Year Album" at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association 60th annual dinner, showing himself and his staff in some decidedly unflattering poses.

There was Bush looking under furniture in a fruitless, frustrating search. "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere," he said.
At least he's got a sense of humor about the government's failures! :D

I for one don't find it very funny that he is making fun a that.
Soldiers are dying because of this BS war and he is poking fun about it..........
I wonder what the parents of one of the Soldiers that was KIA in Iraq thinks of his so-called humor.

I wonder what those same parents think of all the people who don't support our president in his efforts to protect this country...

Protect this country from what? Saddam Hussein? He was never a threat, he was never affiliated with Al Qaeda and he never had WMD's. How was he a threat?

What did he use to exterminate all those Kurds?

Yes, that's right, weapons of mass destruction.

You think he destroyed them all?

right.....

He never had WMDs? Hell, we gave him the stuff to make them back when he was our ally against Iran, and some of those materials are still unaccounted for.

What happened to the Anthrax, nerve agents, and mustard gas (blister agent) that Iraq declaired it had weaponized? (http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/iraq/cw/program.htm) We gave some of them to him for Christ's sake! And for them to come up unaccounted for before the war, with Saddam saying that they were distroyed without ANY proof is very suspect. To say that he never had them proves that you're an idiot.

Two points, that happened after the 1st Gulf War when we gave the Kurds the ok to overthrow Saddam but didn't back them up over 12 years ago. Those kinds of weapons only have a few years of shelf life.

Second who gave him those weapons, The US with the help of Dick Cheney. If Dick blew that so badly along with the WMD thing why should he and Bush be reelected?

Actually, it happened in 1988, before the first Gulf War, in Halabja.

Furthermore, it's not even certain that whether they were killed by Iraq or Iran.

The credentials of the man, Stephen C. Pelletiere who say we don't know? Some nut, right?

Not hardly:

He was the Central Intelligence Agency's senior political analyst on Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war.

A professor at the Army War College from 1988 to 2000.

He headed a 1991 Army investigation into how the Iraqis would fight a war against the United States (where the classified version of the report went into great detail on the Halabja affair.

He reports:

This much about the gassing at Halabja we undoubtedly know: it came about in the course of a battle between Iraqis and Iranians. Iraq used chemical weapons to try to kill Iranians who had seized the town, which is in northern Iraq not far from the Iranian border. The Kurdish civilians who died had the misfortune to be caught up in that exchange. But they were not Iraq's main target.

And the story gets murkier: immediately after the battle the United States Defense Intelligence Agency investigated and produced a classified report, which it circulated within the intelligence community on a need-to-know basis. That study asserted that it was Iranian gas that killed the Kurds, not Iraqi gas.

Furthermore:

The agency did find that each side used gas against the other in the battle around Halabja. The condition of the dead Kurds' bodies, however, indicated they had been killed with a blood agent ? that is, a cyanide-based gas ? which Iran was known to use. The Iraqis, who are thought to have used mustard gas in the battle, are not known to have possessed blood agents at the time.

The entire article is here.

He's making fun of the fact that there are no WMD? F*cking hilarious. What's even more hilarious is that over 500 servicemen have died over his f*cking bullsh!t lie about WMD. I'm sure glad he can find the humor in the situation because I sure can't. :|

He had them. US gave a lot of those to him.
However to not know that just about all of those Chemicals that he had have a shelf life of 3 to 6 month is also stupid. They are simply no longer usable after they have been sitting somewhere for a little while. So if he didn't have the capability to manufacture it anymore after the first war and all the inspections, what the hell gives you the idea that it would still be good 12 years later?

Not all of them do. As for Anthrax, you just need a freezer.

Sorry but the official U.S. Army report at the time points the finger at Iran.
