Bush notes "Darn Good" intelligence on Iraq

ABCNews
"When all is said and done the people of the United States will realize that Saddam Hussein had a weapons program," Bush said.

"I think I get is darn good intelligence and the speeches I have given are backed by good intelligence," Bush said. However, the administration has acknowledged the uncertainty of remarks Bush made in his January State of the Union address about Iraq's alleged attempts to buy uranium in Iraq.

Maybe it's a typo . . . maybe it's Bush . . . either way that sentence is funny.

"I think the bottom has been gotten to," White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said earlier Monday. "No one can accurately tell you it was wrong. That is not known," he said.
Damn the affliction with correct diction is contagious.

"The statement that (Bush) made was indeed accurate," Rice told "Fox News Sunday." "The British government did say that. Not only was the statement accurate, there were statements of this kind in the National Intelligence Estimate," a classified document compiled by U.S. agencies, she said.
Yeah, just like the 45 minutes to launch WMD . . .

BBC on core elements of British WMD evidence
Of the nine main conclusions in the British government document "Iraq's weapons of mass destruction", not one has been shown to be conclusively true.

I would have thought Bush would have 'Operation Get More Oil' better planned out.

He could have at least planted some weapons in Iraq..

REMOVE BUSH FROM POWER.

I don't call this the Bush Oil War, anymore. Clearly, the WH was hijacked by the NeoCons who were focused on some grand delusion of Pax Americana based on military might. Their calculus was bad for a myriad of reasons not the least of which was a general lack of intelligent US military advisers/historians to explain that a highly professional, voluntary Army of 1 million cannot dominate the world . . . regardless of technological superiority . . . well at least not yet.

Wow, with all this "cowboy english" gettin' thrown around, it's a miracle we can even figure out what they're saying half the time, let alone tell if they're lying 😛

The trick is to flatter the boobs who support you by sounding like them. Who would trust a president who could talk. I'd trust a dumb guy over a smart one any day. Too stupid to be dangerous, right. Oh wait, I didn't mean for him to command the military.

So, it's obvious now Bush launched the war under false pretenses. The motive seems pretty obvious, too. What I don't understand is, what kind of plan did Bush & Co. prepare for this inevitable after-war situation? The US conquering Iraq was the forgone conclusion. Nobody doubted that. After the war, Iraq would be wide open for the world to see. Of course, there would not be enough WMD evidence because there was none in the first place. Then the world would inevitably realize this fraud. Then what? How was Bush going to handle this outcry? Did he count on people's selective amnesia? There must have, or should have been a plan. What is that? I don't see any right now. I'm seeing just the onset of a complete meltdown.

Oh... I don't think he does much commanding with Rummy and Wolfie over at Defense... Heck... even State has Rice running that show.....

See my post above. You'd think he would have been smart enough to at least plant some weapons to make it look like a legitimate war.

Where are all the people that were posting pre-war saying "I have no doubt saddam has WofMD and I know for sure he will use them". What are they doing now?

REMOVE BUSH FROM POWER.

Damn straight, they found the WMD's, discovered Saddam's biological and chemical weapons, found links to Al Qaeda and have seized the weapons that can deployed within 45 minutes. So there is nothing wrong with praising the intelligence that lead the US to all of this.

Oh wait, none of that happened, oh well, I guess the intelligence does suck😉
