Al Qaeda is only one group that hates america.
The number of people who hate America has increased since Bush has been in power.
Is America safer now?

I would say no. Iraq was not posing any threat, but Iraq was invaded.

Now we have Iran and North Korea with increasing nuclear capability, and a whole swarm of small terrorist groups thriving under this administration.

There will always be terror alerts. Because the size and population of this country. we can't stop everyone.
Who ever is president they will still come aslong as we exist. The goal is to have as minimal attacks as possible and i believe kerry is the wrong person for the job.

What has Bush done to protect us here at home? I mean, besides cutting funding to our first-responders, ignoring the lack of security at our ports, ignoring our border problems and all but encouraging illegals to keep poring across them?

Can you recall the last time (in the past 3 years of no attacks on US soil) that it was below
the current status?

Because the size and population of this country. we can't stop everyone.

So we choose to live our lives in a constant state of paranoia? While this administration
provides less funding for domestic security policies than it does for its foreign interests
(which are also proving to have inadequate support).

What happened to bringing the most wanted man alive to justice? Knowing Bush's record as Governor of Texas in regards to criminals and punishment, this disgusts me, as does this attitude that OBL no longer matters.

Read what Bush said. He never said the OBL no longer matters. He said that OBL is on the run and his power has effectively been marginalized. Bush is not concerned about bin Laden because he is on the run and really can't do anything.

I'm confused. Saddam Hussein's power was marginalized, he was contained, he posed no threat to America, but it was absolutely critical we get him because he had "intentions". Meanwhile, Osama bin Laden, who has attacked the U.S. before and who is the head of an organization that, we are told, is actively working to attack us again, is not a concern to Bush because his power has been marginalized. Why is it his intentions don't count ... especially since he actually has demonstrated the means to be a threat?

Never mind, it's a rhetorical question. We all know the answer.
