The whole "Sure I'm bought out by special interests like Jr, but at least I'm not full on nutter butters like the other guys" just wasn't a compelling argument for getting votes.

I never said he did not stand against what his brother was for. Electing him would be the equivalent of a third Bush term.

The halfwit Bushes are just tools for the Military industrial complex. He would just be pushed around by the curated VP who would really be the one running the country along with the other fatcats, pushing papers for him to sign etc..

He would have been a puppet like his brother. Trump pulled the curtains and made everyone see this clearly. The media was willing to keep it hush hush and play along as was the GOP.

Trump pissed in the punchbowl and ruined everyones party. Now the fatcats are gonna be forced to exercise the Hillary put option.

Trump in this 2.4 minute video pretty much said it all and this is why I think he did a lot of good for America just in getting Bush out of the picture and showing Americans what a scam it was. NOTHING Trump said in that snippet can be refuted.

Sometimes it's difficult for me to tell when he's being serious and when he's just playing the base.

It's obvious Hillary is the only option now. Jeb was the last of the not-crazy republicans. Whatever you think of her numerous issues, she's really the only adult left in the room.

Jeb was actually pretty damn crazy if you look into his record. This article shows just how horrible of a person he was:

http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/01/jeb-bush-terri-schiavo-114730

His totally insane interventions in people's private lives aside if you look at the policies he was proposing they were way, way to the right of any Republican president in history. He was LESS nuts than the rest of the clown car, but let's not mistake relative sanity for actual sanity.

Thank you. This is closer to what I actually meant.

There a TLDR version of that?

--Jeb promises to protect the Everglades from local industrial runoff and development
--Psych! What he really means is that he is going to sell off the Everglades to the most interested (meaning: $$$$$$$) party
--Don't cross him. He's apparently an obstinate blowhard that is not interested in a counter opinion or compromise (apparently, everyone hated working for him in FL)

Good article.

I miss "Walkin Lawton" myself and never have been a Skeletor (Rick Scott) fan, he managed to barely squeak by Alex Sink at the time.

Kind of like thinking Kasich seems moderate and sensible until you look at the news and find out that he's proud of being behind the defunding Planned Parenthood in his state. They are all wingnuts without exception.

They all support the same policies.

Some of them are just better able in using their inside voices while not seeming like a total asshole. Kasich is the clear winner in that category.

His social and science issues are a complete and total disaster, but Kasich has a real, documented history of working with people. Of understanding compromise. Of governing. You know...being a leader.

He's the only one that isn't a completely useless dickhole.

I rather wish the best thing that can be said about the best GoP candidate didn't start with "Yeah he's another necon war hawk BUT..."

He's a Republican I wouldn't mind despite how horrible I think his social policy positions are. I think his policies would probably be more tolerable to me if he didn't use his religion to justify them.

True, he did decide to expand Medicaid so that less of the poors would die on his watch, so there's that.

But, in Ohio, unlike Wisconsin, labor has fought Kasich and has prevented him from doing a lot of the things that Walker was able to do, for example. So, Kasich as a moderate is a stretch, but, he substantially less scumbaggy than the rest, for sure.

In other news, Bush announces suspension of his campaign again. Because he wasn't sure that anyone was paying attention the first time.

This just in: Bush announces Lincoln Chafey as his running mate, assuming no one noticed the second announcement of his campaign suspension.
