Bush issues strong warning to Iraq - MSNBC

WASHINGTON, Nov. 26 ? President Bush hinted Monday that Iraq could be the next target of the U.S. war on terrorism. At a White House ceremony, the U.S. leader urged Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to allow U.N. inspectors back into Iraq to demonstrate that he?s not developing weapons of mass destruction ? or face the consequences.

IRAQ KICKED U.N. inspectors out of the country in December 1998. Asked what would happen if Baghdad rejected his request, Bush replied, ?He?ll find out.?

Looks like Iraq WILL be next. That is, if Saddam doesn't open things back up to UN inspectors, which he probably won't.

I'd love to see us go after Hussein next but I'm betting the next country we go into will be a non-Muslim, perhaps even non-Arab country. At this stage, Bush's coalition won't stick together if we go into Iraq. Going into a non-Muslim country would help reinforce the notion that it's a war against terrorism and not against Muslims.

Truer words could not be spoken. If only the general public knew how things really went during the Gulf War, and how much continuing effort is put into keeping up the charade...

I figured all along that this would be our next target.

And I think we SHOULD go in there and finish up the job that was started years ago.

Saddam is dangerous IMO.

please elaborate or is it just your intent to be cryptic while really knowing nothing at all?

I'm not going to get into specifics, and as such, a majority of you are going to call BS. So be it, I don't much care.

What I will say, though, is that we haven't won the war yet--not even close. Saddam Hussein is still in power, he still defies the UN and the US. Hopefully, GWB can finish what his father started...

Sounds good to me, but I would prefer to leave Iraq until Phase 3. Like Dan said, hit a non-Arab country like the Phillipines or Somalia first.

Hmmm.......good call there ATLien247!;) But still, how did things "really go"????? I'm fairly certain everybody already knew this so........
Also, to be specific, Schwarzkopf & Bush wanted us to proceed into Baghdad!:Q It was The UN, whom had the backing of the Britts. and French, and even Powell whom were against it!;) The UN was convinced "Our Objective had Been Reached" and we needed to pull out. They subsequentely convinced enough "U.S. Powers that be" to agree and it was halted. BUT, the U.S. has known for years we would end up back there.........;)

Don't flame me, but don't you think that GWB's threats sound a little juvinile. To me he sounds like a kid on a playground. It just makes me laugh to hear the leader of the most powerful country in the world make comments like ?He?ll find out.?

*Disclamer*

I support the U.S. crusade against terrorism and I also am a GWB supporter.

I love that attitude...

One of my first concerns after the 11th was if we were going to stand up this time and take action. There have been times when I was disappointed in how the country handled things. I was very happy to see that we took action and are following through with it.

We have to defend our land, our freedom, our ideals, our people, and our causes.

Oh boy. If he goes after Iraq, won't they start lobbing more missiles at Israel just like he did at the end of the Gulf War? He has had what, 10 years to get better technology. This could open up a whole can of worms.

I hope Saddam blinks first, for his sake.

Will you then be the first to suffer when they manage to develop weapons of mass destruction?
Better to investigate and take action if needed than to sit on our hands and watch our people die.

I think that it's fairly evident that Iraq is producing such weapons. Although a nation may feel "embarassed" being treated like a "child", Saddamn agreed to have UN inspectors check his country out. This he agreed to and then kicked them out. Why? Because he is making weapons. He isn't a nice man.

Do you think President Bush would threaten China the same way he threatened Iraq today? I doubt it...

I'm not saying the Bush is wrong or anything, but I think that there will always be an issue with terrorism in the world.

Hence, the never-ending-war... As long as there are fights the war will never be over.

Unfortunately, that's fairly true. But, should we just sit here and take it up the ass from Osama and Co.?
