Bush is two-faced.

Thought that would get you going but I don't mean it in a bad way. In Iraq the US is willing to go it alone, or nearly alone, but with the NK situation "One key element of the U.S. strategy is to cast the standoff over North Korea's nuclear program as a multilateral issue, not a dispute between the United States and North Korea. " I think it's a great idea because NK seems to be like a spoiled brat that wants attention and the further they go the less international support they'll have as they step up the stupidity of what they say and do.

Bush doesn't want to get into it with NK because they won't be as easy as Iraq to defeat. Iraq is a Fangless snake where as NK has big Fangs.

Plus North Korea is just trying to blackmail the US into more aid.
And Bush and company don't want to bite.

I don't really think "two-faced" is an accurate term. We are basically going it alone with Iraq because we have to. But as for the situation with North Korea, I don't think there will be a problem with other countries not wanting to act.

North Korea has two strong-willed neighbors in Russia and North Korea who should be taking care of the situation. Who is there in the Middle East with comparable responsibility, and the means to take care of it?

Not to be a pain in the ass, but I think you mean Russia and China, Not Russia and NK

So Skoorb, your premise is that if we ignore NK, they will go away? Let's try that with Saddam!

PS- NK is looking for money because it is starving. Nevermind fault, a hungry belly does not care about such things. X-Man, you argument is really what you think the responsibility of Russia and China should be. We do not know what their take is on it. Anyway, I do not think China is particularly worried about NK, and is probably privately amused by the consternation of Japan and the West.

bush will quickly move to nk once saddam is done. experts are saying nk will have 10 nuclear weapons by the end of the year...and have more than the 2 they say they have.

I think some commando inserts could take out the two, then nail the rest of the nation pre-nuke buildup and give them a real leader. Bush rambo!!!

What do mean by "move"? Bomb? - I don't think so.

The reason I'm concerned about Bush is that; he's using religion in almost every speech he makes. Makes refrences to the Bible and pretty much avoiding all questions and says "God" will help us through. While Saddam is using the same tactics in his country.. weird 😕

NKorea, is a sad situation. I have many Korean friends and they really don't want to go to war for any reason. They see NKoreans as their brothers, seems NKoreans don't think that way (or at least their govt does not)

I think they could detect this, view it as the attack against the "axis of evil" Bush defined, panic, lauch, be retaliated against and 20 million or more die. Maybe some of them on the West Coast of the US. Either way, it is over.
Bush rambo!!

Dangerous "what if" game.

I noticed that :|

If the US started bombing NK, NK would open up some serious whoopass on SK and, possibly, Japan. Just bombing wouldn't accomplish much, either. We would have to attack with SK and US ground troops. My guess is that China would give us just one warning to get our butts out of NK or face the full wrath of their ground troops. There is no way China wants the US on their border.

A very different situation than Iraq.
