Why shouldn't he? He'll be working the entire time, and traveling to many US cities on official business. What can he do in Washington, that he can't do on the road?

Frankly, I like it that he spends so much time away from Washington. That town really is far removed from what America is all about.

Try being the leader of the free world. Do you honestly think he gets a vacation? He has to be in constant communication at all times with more people than you could possibly fathom. This job, probably unlike yours, could easily be done from the road. AF1 is absolutely loaded with some insane telecom gear.

lol, well he did. modern patronage, it is. Prestigious family heritage and key business ties. yes, you can get to be president while being dumb. Now don't get me confused with an over-zealous democrat or anything. its just true though. The right ties is all you need sometimes....

How do you explain his Ivy League education. His MBA from Harvard? Do stupid people graduate from Harvard Business School? Ties can get you in... but do you get a degree from the most prestigious school in the United States?

I don't really know what your basis for claiming that Mr. Bush is "dumb." I assume you are calling his dumb because of his self-professed lack of eloquence. When the President speaks, he does have a tendency to mangle the English language.

Don't confuse his lack of eloquence with stupidity. Calling him "dumb" displays your own ignorance.

Name calling is pretty juvenile. It is very easy to just say "He's dumb." Would you like to back up the statement with substance?

The last time that I checked the President still enjoyed remarkable approval ratings, indicating that the majority of Americans approve of the job that he is doing, notwithstanding the uncertain economy. You are in the minority.

As for me, I thank God every day for delivering us from Al Gore.

yeah dude, i dunno. i mean, i dislike george bush as much as the next guy, but its not like hes gonna take his phone of the hook and fall asleep on the couch. i'm sure he still works and does president sh!t while he's "vacationing." i'd be willing to bet every president takes vacations.

I liked Big Bush so I started out with a favourable opinion of Little Bush but his work ethic is disturbing to say the least.
To be honest, Little Bush gives me the creeps. Along with his Nazi friend John Ashcroft.

At least Clinton TOOK THE JOB SERIOUSLY. Goddammit do you think I want to pay that slimeball Clinton ANY type of compliment?! Arg.

Why is it the conservatives who make it into office are all religious wacko, corporate puppets ffs?

Screw it.. I guess I have to align myself with the never-ever-gonna-get-into-office-Libertarians. :|

Let him take his vacation. It's not like he is doing much in the White House anyways. :) Makes no difference if he plays nintendo all day in texas or in washington :D The big boys will still be running the country, so it won't make one cent of difference. Of course last time Bush took a vacation he came back to 9/11. If that happens again, he will be in big trouble.

??? I'm not a Bush basher, as in fact I'd rather have him than Al Gore. In fact, I think hes doing a decent job as of now (although not great), and so far he still looks like the best candidate for 2004. I'm just saying how mornic it is to say Bush is dumb, because it is after all about half the US population that voted for him. So then if you still think hes dumb, point the fingers elsewhere.

Off the topic of whether Bush is dumb or not, you CAN graduate from harvard and be dumb. In fact, there was just a big investigation on that found how Harvard inflates grades by a large percentage... I don't remember what this report was but I remember there was a thread about it here. Maybe somebody has the link?
