just remember the capitalists did it all by themselves right? t hey grew the money on trees. or did they have the help of the highly educated workforce, educated with tax dollars, using infrastructure, research institutions paid for by tax dollars. their fortunes kept safe by government workers, policemen, firemen, soldiers all paid for by tax dollars.
You forgot to add: or is it a ploy to buy the next presidency from very obtuse and easily manipulated people. Wow, for mere hundreds, or thousands, and people are willing to sell their country. Wait, this deserves a

GHWB may have coined the phrase, but he still followed the policy- not even the tax increases of the Clinton years actually reversed the trends show in these sources-

The Bush Admin's policies build on this legacy, accelerating our descent into a third world model of taxation, income distribution and debt-

society creates the conditions which make wealth possible. those who benifit the most from the system should have to pay their fair share.

Equity and the Benefit Principle

Taxes should be fair and based on people's ability to pay.

The benefits principle argues that people should pay taxes according to the benefit (utility) they derive from consuming government goods and services.

"Every tax is to the person who pays it a badge, not of slavery, but of liberty. It denotes that he is subject to government, indeed, but that, as he has some property, he cannot himself be the property of a master." Governments expand everyone's liberty, and the fact that we pay taxes to support the government is but a sign and a consequence of our freedom.

adam smith

father of capitalism.

so much for the republicans and their tax boogey man:p america is about more then making sure some people can be as rich as possible as some seem to think. protecting freedom requires investment in education, health, protecting those who cannot support themselves, fighting poverty etc.

I'm sure adam smith's idea of "government" isn't close to what we have today.

i thought the liberals were rich limosine liberals...
billgates dad is against repealing the estate tax, and i think one of the rockefellers is too. the former head of coke also did a talk on why it was a poor idea to repeal the estate tax. they all basically said i posted, that the rich do need to pay their share for the society that allowed them to reap such benifts. and these are people that created a few jobs i think.

you can't have it both ways.

Man, as I kinda glance over at the threads, why are people still saying this? It's his agenda from the get go, to make money for oil tycoons, and other rich bastards that wants to rape this and other countries, in which and any ways they can. The real question is how to get his ass out of the White House. Really, ask yourselves, what has he done for this country since he took office? In order to be recognized, (or as a diversion), people have something else to talk about, hence the chaos ensued his election. I'm not really a conspiracy theorist, but I'd be damn if I don't believe in one (and you all know what it is).

Exactly how is Pres. Bush doing what you and Moore are saying he is doing?

How does what he IS doing differ from any other president?

If you can present a coherent argument that actually backs up your contentions than we can continue this.

Here's you're Capitalists in Action:

2-2-2--4 Lucrative Deals for a Daughter of Republican Congressman

Karen Weldon, an inexperienced 29-year-old lobbyist from suburban Philadelphia, seemed an unlikely choice for clients seeking global public relations services.

Yet her tiny firm was selected last year for a plum $240,000 contract to promote the good works of a wealthy Serbian family that had been linked to accused war criminal Slobodan Milosevic.

Despite a lack of professional credentials, she had one notable asset ? her father, U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R - Pa.), who is a leading voice in Washington on former Eastern Bloc affairs.

Together, the three contracts are worth almost $1 million a year to her firm for services that have included joining her father on congressional trips and in meetings with clients.

The Weldons are the latest example of special interests hiring relatives of important members of Congress as lobbyists and consultants. Over the last year, The Times has identified 11 other House members and 17 senators with relatives who lobby or consult, many of them for clients the members have helped through legislative or other action.

Weldon has brought his daughter so deeply into his official activities that they sometimes appear to be working in tandem.

A hint for you Dave. Take the word seperately and not as a contraction and see if it still makes sense.

"Here's you're Capitalists in Action:"

Here is you are Capitalist in Action:

It won't make your statements any more true but at least you won't look quite so stupid.

Now explain how capitalist translates to nepotism and how much are you willing to bet that I can find democrats doing the exact same thing. Of course finding democrats does not mean it is right but it would show that it is not limited to one side.

It wasn't even a good try on your part.

BTW, what other system other than capitalism are you advocating since you find it so repugnent, socialism, communism, what?
