Yet to be answered was whether Bush?s aggressive, animated style was effective or a damaging extension of the first debate.

Bush ?seemed wound a bit too tight. He was a little like Nixon ? sort of jumping out of his suit,? David Niven, a political science professor at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, told The Associated immediately afterward. ?He looked bad on the TV close-ups.?

He's got some serious personal issues to work through. Win or lose this November, he should get counseling.
Kerry by contrast seemed much more Presidential in both debates.

disagree on the latter...Kerry always comes off as a bafoon, and that stupid thumb thing he does just makes it worse.

Ummm....

Your canidate is the one that looks like a bafoon, not Kerry. Kerry is an intellectual, Bush is a moron, I don't care what you say or how you want to spin it. Kerry is by far smarter than Bush in every respect.

Watching both debates, I got the very strong impression that President Bush is not accustomed to people expressing opinions different from his to his face, and he handles it very badly. It's apparent that he's usually surrounded by yes-men and sycophants.

That's exactly what I've been expressing lately. He looks like a spoiled child.

In his own words, you are either with us or against us.

I'd rather share a beer with bush, but the fact is yes he is simply an inferior debater. We've seen it now twice. He just can't keep his composure as well as Kerry. He does let his anger get to him and frankly he isn't particularly impressive to watch. He gets pretty damn heated, and I still think that Cheney would smoke his ass in a debate and cheney should be pres (not just in practical terms but hold the title!). If I could vote, which I can't, I'm not saying I'd not vote for bush because of it, but the man seriously needs to clam down and be more presentable. For a president of the US to act as he has shown he acts now is just a touch alarming to me, to be honest. Alarming also is the fact that his lack of composure doesn't bring pause to more people. Kerry is more presidential in how he comes off. Such is simply unarguable and to pretend otherwise is lunacy. Like I said, it doesn't mean that Kerry would be a better president, but in this arena at least Bush needs some serious coaching.

You can't share a beer with Bush, he's a dry alcoholic or I think. Maybe you could share a pretzel.

He did during the first too. I consider this particular "argument" really quite done with. I assert that only the most biased anti-kerry individuals would claim that he's less presidential in appearance in these debates than Bush. Both have their strong points, but debate is not one of bush's.

Can't say as I do. I see nothing in Bush that I would want to waste good beer time exploring. I see nothing but incredible shallowness.

That just means you don't agree with it, not that you don't get it.

I think many Americans were turned off by Bush's temper and arrogance that was exhibited last night. Kerry was critical of the president, but he wasn't childish in the way he went about it.

Bush turning his back on Charlie Gibson while Charlie was still talking and, essentially, trying to get Bush to sit down, speaks volumes as to Bush's agitated state of mind.
