i searched but didnt find it here or in OT.

now, i know ebaums world isnt a good news source, but i just saw the video he had put up of bush drunk at a wedding.
is this real?
i was under the impression bush was in recovery...

there is no conclusive evidence in the video but he seems a little tipsy.
anyone have any real sources on this?

oh man, apparently its old.
very strange to me that he would be drinking, considering.

more info for those as un-educated as myself.

He seems to be just holding a water bottle in his hand, so drunk? No. That's the sober version of the leader of the free world.
Great......

I think he's sober, that's the scary part. He's just an idiot with a famous name.

I agree, he?s also a Methodist, a group of Christians who often fail to qualify as such by historical standards.

You guys don?t understand how truly moderate bush is.

Having a drink and being methodist doesn't make him a moderate. His positions clearly show he's far right. But about this video, it was out back in his first run for the president. Its old. There's a lot to criticize Bush for but this isn't one.

yeah, id never seen it before and i was very surpised that he would be on camera. according to the smoking gun, he was drunk supposedly after he quit drinking. but that dont make him a bad person.

and i agree with your points about him being a moderate. im not sure that having a drink and/or being methodist really has anything to do with being moderate. to be honest, im not even sure what the comment about methodists meant.

I agree but:
His ?under funding? no child left behind, when we conservatives didn?t want it at all
His ?under funding? a senior prescription drug benefit, when we conservatives didn?t want it AT ALL
And his willingness to deal in the pork beryl spending and want for spending initiatives in faith-based initiatives are definitely things that we conservatives hate, but are well accepted by liberals or at very least the politicians that represent them.

all come together to show that he's truly moderate... Though properly conservative on enough social issues that I?m willing to wait for him to come through with the flat tax and close the borders military-style come his second term.

Since when did liberals support faith based initiatives, buddy? You've got the Christian Coalition to thank for that one. And Pork Barrel politics isn't unique to the left. Republican congressman are just as prolific at building roads to no where in their state.

Obviously that video demonstrates that his decision to quit drinking was one of the best he has made in his life. Now if he was President when this video was made it would be damning, but he wasn't so it isn't.

He quit drinking when he was 40. That video was not that old, I'd say while he was Governor, hence the election year comment. So he the same guy then and now, scary huh?

So likes to drink? Do you think he gets trashed now? I don't think so. Like I said there's plenty to attack him on, this ain't one. If you want to crucify him on this then god help clinton.

Saw this during the last election. He does not seem to be drunk or drinking alcohol to me. He is being sardonic regarding the newly married couple, you know like JOKING.

I am not much of a GWBush supporter, but this glimpse into his personal life combined with using it for a smear campaign kind of make me feel like voting for him this Nov.

Did that "glimpse' into Clinton's personal life make you vote for him?

Didn't vote for Clinton. What I did hear of his personal life did not make me want to vote for him, no. Was it good for you?

So alcoholism makes you sympathietic and adultury makes you unsympathetic. I have to say I don't approve of alcoholism or adultury. But having said that, I tend to vote for my president based on his policies.

On a sidde note have you seen the email floating around the web about which man of the three would you choose to lead your country. One guy cheats, the other is a drunk, and the last one is a model husband. Yeah, the last one was Hitler and the other two were the american president and the Enlgish Prime minister.

Ok, lets just make the cliffs notes.

1. Clinton likes chicks. He's not running for anything.

2. Bush is sober now, but he is just a moron.

--I never did say that, I'm sorry if you had that impression. In general smear campaign elicit a knee-jerk reaction in me to vote for the smearee, but I do overcome it and vote for the peson whom I truly think would do the best job with our country. I did not vote for GWB in '00, BTW.

--Yes, OK.

--Yes, I have seen it. It really falls into the "so what?" category. Amusing, interesting, but otherwise meaningless. Just goes to show you need to look at the big picture and not some one-sentence summary, or 30-second video clip.
