Apparently, that "classy guy" George W, who has managed to refrain from barking like an angry dog like his associate Cheney, is talking more than ever. And the lolz just keep on comin'.

Check out the hypocrisy for yourself:

Bush Assails Those Who Offer Terrorists 'Therapy' -- Though His Administration Sent Detainees to Saudi Counseling Center

June 18, 2009 8:48 AM

At a speaking engagement last night, former President George W. Bush defended his administration's counterterrorism policies, including Guantanamo Bay, the Washington Times reports.

"The way I decided to address the problem was twofold: One, use every technique and tool within the law to bring terrorists to justice before they strike again," Mr. Bush said.

Refraining from directly criticizing President Obama, Mr. Bush said, "I'll just tell you that there are people at Gitmo that will kill American people at a drop of a hat and I don't believe that persuasion isn't going to work. Therapy isn't going to cause terrorists to change their mind."

Interestingly, it was the Bush administration that sent some Gitmo detainees to a Saudi jihadi rehabilitation camp -- called the "Prince Mohammed bin Nayef Centre for Care and Counseling."

To decidedly mixed success.

Earlier this year the Saudi government published a list of 85 wanted terrorism suspects. Eleven of them had been prisoners at Guantanamo put through the Saudi rehabilitation program.

Said Ali al-Shihri, transferred to Saudi Arabia from Guantanamo during the Bush administration in 2007, is currently the deputy leader of al Qaeda's Yemen branch.

The Bush administration also released Gitmo detainee Ghulam Rasoul into the Saudi rehabilitation program. Now known as Mullah Abdullah Zakir, he's a leader against U.S. forces in southern Afghanistan, according to military and intelligence officials.

He may have been admirably silent most of the time, but when he does open his mouth, he blows it (no sexual innuendo intended).

The same dishonest wording we're used to - 'before they strike AGAIN', implying they struck before despite the well-known evidence of how most detainees were taken into custody with no evidence of having done anything wrong, the large majority simply bought from groups such as Afghan warlords who sometimes just wanted the money and sometimes were getting rid of enemies. So, Bush is lying as usual.

Now, this program to 'rehabilitate terrorists' has been a great success. It actually goes back to a little-known program Arafat had long ago, when the PLO went into a political role, and said, 'what do you do with a bunch of young men who have been radicalized and trained for violence? Do you just get them killed after they served your policies?' They wanted a better alternative - and set up a program to recruit young women to marry the man and domestiavte them, as a 'patriotic duty'. And it worked great.

This current program, as documented on 60 Minutes recently, has been working great.

Some people have ridiculous demands of such a program; while American recidivisim sees the large majority of prisoners who have served their sentences and are released commit new crimes, they demand that if any people who are in this program do so, that's too many. But in fact reportedly not one person from that program has been found to have committed any terrorist violence; a small number have re-connected with some terrorist groups. But the right has tried to discredit this very useful and human program.

That's because they're the real murderous thugs, projecting their own 'only violence solves problems' mentality onto the other side.

Who the hell is even suggesting we offer the Gitmo detainees "therapy?" And you know, beyond the "counseling and care" program that Bush's administration released detainees into, his administration also transferred something on the order of 500 detainees to countries around the world. Many of whom, returned to fight America in Afghanistan and Iraq. Seriously, where does he get off complaining about anything WRT Gitmo?

Maybe he'd benefit from some of that water "therapy" he provided for his "guests" at Gitmo. :p

Former Fearless Leader Commander Codpiece is upset ... that even after 6 straight months of Fear, Outrage, Revisionist History and Obfuscation from the NeanderCons, 72 percent of Americans believe the current state of the economy is something Obama inherited rather than created. Those that differ, apparently, all post at P&N.
