Perhaps they can give a coherent speech about what they plan on doing instead of bungling their words and looking confused like Bush Jr.

of course he is...
its like management in the office, you will never see managers publicly cross each others message in front of staff.
but behind closed doors its a different story.

Of course he is... he's completely in the "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything" mode right now. He's FAR too diplomatic (and young) to say anything negative about the current President. He also realizes that unless the President does something terrible, it's not worth stirring up the American public to question his actions.Originally posted by: Mill
Clinton is totally supporting Bush Jr. on his gas plans right now.

There seems to have been some sort of truce between these two guys in general for some reason...its respectable but sort of disgusting as well.
In our conversation someone called the growing chumminess "creepy" and asked what I thought of it. I said I found it creepy too. What, I was asked, did I think was behind it? Why are Mr. Bush senior and Mr. Clinton so publicly embracing each other, yukking it up for the cameras and complimenting each other?
Because it serves their individual needs and interests, I said. They both get real benefit out of it while appearing to be ignoring their own interests. That's a great twofer.

Oh, and there's one more important point here: even liberals have to be a little low on things to say bad about his handling of this situation. As long as he opens the reserves (which he did) and he sends in National Guard troops, he's doing about all he can.
