Woops! Well there's certainly no doubts now that the connection exists. Not that there were before.

Just like I am sure there is some lackey Kerry campaign member working with MoveOn.org... This still does nothing to prove the accusations of the Swift Boat Vets wrong.. and it certainly does not show Bush had any knowledge of this.

I saw the parrot and the text, but it wasn't Rip! You really need to throw in the towel. Every report from every source is making these idiots look bad. I know you think it's your only hope for Bush, but if you need your guy to win this way... it's sad.

I agree Bush probably had no knowledge whatsoever of this. I do tend to think Karl Rove is indirectly pulling the strings of the SBVFT, though, and they don't need this to undermine their credibility - there is ample evidence (including Rood's statements today, the statements of the Band of Brothers, and, most uncontroversially, the SBVFTs' own statements in the past, and the military records they helped create) that the few SBVFT who had any direct contact with Sen Kerry are either exaggerating or outright lying.

So what? Same as Michael Moore being embraced by the entire Democratic establishment. Nearly all of Democratic Washington came to the D.C. premiere of Fahrenheit 9/11. The last two Democratic presidents have given him their seal of approval: When Bill Clinton was asked what he thought of The Film, he replied, "I think every American ought to see it." After his convention speech, Jimmy Carter sat with Moore. I don't see any past or present Republican Presidents endorsing the Swift Boat Vets Against Kerry org. I haven't heard Kerry publically telling Michael Moore to back off. So what? Kerry can't take the heat.

that's the part that scares me the most. I can deal with Machiavelli, but willful ignorance in a president scares the hell out of me.

I suspect it's more than a coincidence your username includes the word "Rip".

The latest ad, a 30-second spot released Friday, uses segments from Kerry's testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971. In the ad, Kerry says, "They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads," "randomly shot at civilians," and "razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn."

The ad does not include Kerry's preface, in which he said he is reporting what others said at a Vietnam veterans conference. Instead, a swift boat group member refers to the statements as "accusations" Kerry made against Vietnam veterans.
Same tactics used by the GOP attack ad against Kerry. Take stuff out of context to twist and distort the truth.

Kerry was right, "'These are the most crooked, you know, lying group I've ever seen, it's scary"

Why would you take your time to deny Bush connection with the swiftboat vets? Do you have first hand knowledge of the non-connection? But that is not the point. I think Bush should be proud of his connection with the org. and admitted that publicly, after all they are Vietnam veterans and they're out there campagining for him. Earlier I thought it's hard to find Veterans who will support a "semi-draft-dodger" with such zeal and intensity, but Bush really defy common logic. Now Bush has their whole hearted support, and they're under attack from many sides, media, Kerry camp, even some in GOP side, he shouldn't abandon them, he should fully embraced them and support them in public, it's like a second chance for him to go to Vietnam and serve with those Veterans, this time doing it right :)

Give me a break Conjur, the Democrats will lie, cheat and steal their way to this election if they can. This idea that Republicans are evil and Democrats are Angels is silly.

The fact that you continue to Demonize the Republicans instead of just disagreeing with their position shows how bias you really are.

The Democrats don't have to do anything and they certainly haven't lied, cheated, nor stolen. That's been up to the Republicans like DeLay, Cheney, and these lying swiftboat veterans.

And, it's not all Republicans. It's those in charge of the party and the Bush campaign. There are good Republicans who are just too afraid to speak up against the party. I find that saddening. The only ones willing to do so are those who will not be running for re-election.

I don't think the SwiftVets are campaigning for Bush, but rather their stance seems to be "Anyone but Kerry." Of course then there's the rampant connections to the GOP that have been discovered and they may as well be campaigning for Bush.

By the way Crimson, much of what the Vets are asserting has already been proven factual inaccurate (factually challenged?) -- they should really stick to just voicing their disgruntledness with Kerry's anti-war activities after returning from Vietnam.

Does Cordier have to be a PAID member of the Bush campaign to make his involvement with a 527 illegal?

I'll give Bush a little break here in that he's simply following orders. Rove has done an exceptional job for him in the past and he's not about to do anything wihout Karl's approval, especially since these lies seem to have worked.
