Hey all...

I just got my Duron 700 and was wondering what combinations you guys were using. Also, what should i adjust first? The multiplier or the bus speed?

Thanks for your help!

I have a 700 Duron and an ABIT KT7 and I am relatively new myself, However, I did a lot of research on overclocking when I got mine. You can find some good articles on www.overclockers.com and all over these forums. For mine, I did the following steps.
1. Use the pencil trick on the L1
2. Start by uping the multiplier. Mine is @ x9.0
3. You will also want to up the voltage. Mine is at 1.80
4. You can up the FSB but they get unstable if you do.

I have only been able to get mine to 900mgz so far by just using the mulipier of 9.0. There are some people running at 1000+ but only the ones with the copper chips.

There is a lot of info in this thread if you just scroll down and do some research on the overclock sites.

At 900mhz, the voltage doesn't have to be that high. I was running 9 x 100 at only 1.675, and it was rock steady. One thing to note though, a higher fsb is definately better and it'll be faster! If you think your ram can handle it, run the fsb higher and the multiplier lower. I'm running now at 8 x 113, which is 904, about the same as 9 x 100, but its definately faster in both cpu and especially memory benchmarks. One of my 2 128 sticks is only pc100 too.

I think it's actually the chipsets that aren;t to FSB overclocking freindly, not the CPUs.

I have my 700 @ 1008mhz 100fsb, on an Asus A7V.

It would do 107, but that's it.. and that's with infineon ram :|
