I don't see what the big deal is. These kids are just acting out the typical behavior you see here daily on ATOT. Is it shocking that these school kids have not acquired the ability to differentiate between the boorish behavior that the anonymity of the internet allows you to get away with and what is acceptable in real life? Children live what they learn.

Disagree. The anonymity of the internet cultivated vile hatred and behavior within me, but it also turned me into a limp, meek asshole with no balls to argue with anyone in real life. And the kid right behind her is far too tan, even for a likely Hispanic. These kids need the internet.

So, now that the video is out there, what will happen to these kids? Serious question.

If they had good parents they'd be beaten.

Despite my snarky remarks I'm generally not in favor of hitting kids, but incidents like this deserve an exception. Beat the shit out of every one of those punks.

I don't hit my kids, but if they ever did that ( and they would never) to someone I would reconsider. All I heard was a bunch of fucking cowards.

The families will go on the defensive, explaining on whichever talk show pays the most that the woman was normally abusive on any other day and had it coming. Non-serious answer.

You know, my parents were never particularly strict or hard asses or anything of that nature. Behaving like that would have NEVER crossed my mind though and I didn't need the threat of punishment to stop me from doing it.

Hopefully for a start, suspensions. The one's that poked her should get expelled and charged with assault. The one's that threatened to kill and hurt her should just be shot.

Grandma can't throw a punch or she'll break her hip but somebody else should.
I can't find the study, but I remember there was one saying that old people were the most likely to fight back if they were being robbed. Broken hip or not, they're fighters.

Do schools do anything to punish kids these days? When I was a kid, you could still be held inside for recess and forced to eat lunch in the principal's office. Even without violence, that social isolation was enough to keep most people in line.

I believe 4chan had a hand in helping identify them and releasing a lot of their info. Their names are in the YouTube video's description.

Luis Recio
Wesley Helm
Brandon Teng
Joshua Slesak

yes, they can still do this. Not much else, though. A good paddling would be good for these kids, right in front of all their classmates.

There's a lot of "When i was a boy..." type stuff, but I really do think kids had more respect for, at the very least, teachers back in the day and authority figures. I wonder if anybody has conducted a study or if it's even possible to.

Lack of dicipline, children not socializing but growing up locked away in rooms and only texting or facebooking, use of drugs as chemical restraints and behavior modifiers. And you get clockwork orange.

Amazing that the future is panning out as predicted.

My friends and I could be obnoxious when we were younger, but this kind of sadism (especially to an adult) would have never crossed my mind. Lack of punishments is clearly an issue but there's more than that. When I was a kid you could have told me that there would be no consequences whatsoever and I still wouldn't have acted like that. Imagine that, some of us were raised not to be sociopaths.

I guess it is just a different world today but growing up in the shallow south I knew lots of old ladies like that when I was a kid and we treated them with a world of respect, always addressed them as Miss Louise, Miss Mary etc. They always treated us great and loved to talk to kids. Our culture has lost something very important if this is the way kids feel free to talk to an adult with no consequence. To his credit at least one of the parents of the kids on that bus is upset and disgusted his kid would act like that and said there will be consequences.

I just saw on the news that the amount is over $114,00 now; that's danger territory, and I hope that it's being watched by the right people.

That woman should never have to step foot on a school bus again.

She's got no business there. She's a guard, essentially, but without the powers of a guard. They are treating the kids like prisoners and surprised when they heckle the powerless person set above them.

The system some numb-nut bureaucratic ass-hat set up did this to both her and the kids.

That was brutal. I stopped watching and the little f***** in the back needs to be dropped off at the local inner-city corner.

Huh? When I was a kid, I remember at one point being a school bus monitor. We were only to report stuff, not get involved.

I'm sure the bus monitor wasn't assigned to that bus because it contained average students. From what I could see from kids in my neighborhood, the average kids aren't so different now than 10 years ago.

I haven't been on a school bus in a few years but we did have some of this going on. We had no monitor, but certain bus drivers had to endure a lot of harassment. Of course most of them were hardened old codgers already so it didn't phase them, but a few had a rough time. I'm not real sure if there was ever any disciplinary action taken or not.

The exact opposite of this is true. In the old days, your parents instilled respect in you from an early age and it would never even cross your mind to disrespect an elder. And if you were stupid enough to do so, you got your pants dragged down and your ass whipped with the belt right there in front of everyone.

Needless to say children acted like humans back then and not like the untrained wild animals they are today.
