Bus Master IDE Controller...

I just installed a new motherboard and processer, and upon booting it up, proceeded to install the various drivers from the CD. Of course, all the while Windows is bringing up the "Found new hardware" messages, but I ignored them, thinking they'd go away once all the drivers were installed. Well, after installing all the drivers (including updated ones from online), Windows continues to bring up a "Found new hardware" message every time I start up, and then pops up the install box. It wants to install the "VIA Bus Master IDE Controller". Selecting the "Auto Install" option yields no results. It just tells me to insert the disk labelled "". I've installed the VIA 4 in 1's, and the RAID controller from the CD. What is Windows looking for?

By the way, the motherboard in question is an Asus A8V Deluxe.

Did you do a clean install?
Let windows run thru the driver install.
Then install the MB drivers from the CD

A8V is a good board. I have worked with it for a while. It is a little tricky on the ram placement.
There are some really good techs on this forum so keep trying.

Hi Kalisperas,

Were you able to resolve you issue?

I am having the same issue and my motherboard is Soyo (SY-7VBA 133), where I have tried the 4 in 1 driver. I did not have this problem before when I had winxp and win98 running on this computer but I had to reinstalled OS and now I only have winXP and every time I boot up it brings up this prompt saying found new hardware and it is showing with esclaimation mark in Device manager.

I am still working on this, if anyone has any suggestion let me know.

Thanks.
