Wow, you really just read whatever you want into anything. The act was stupid. Well within her right as a US citizen, but he still thinks it was stupid. Is it really hard to understand that? I think it was stupid too, but it was her right to do it. Whether or not she gets her job back is between her and her employer.

What she did was pretty stupid, but I don't see it being worth firing her over, UNLESS there have been other problems in her history.

I was 13 freshman year of highschool, and no, I did not skip a grade. I think your math is a little off.

Excusing bad behavior on the grounds of free speech and job position will get humans nowhere; we need to accept what things are disrespectful and stupid. It is not as if flipping off Bush will change his life. I doubt he cares about the thoughts of one single commoner; he already has a huge list of people that hate him. All the gesture did was set a rude example for middle schoolers. I was ten the first year of middle school, and I'm sure I was very influentiable. What ever happened to the idea of adults showing examples of civility through self control?

With all this said, I would hesitate to fire a employee based on this single event. I would guess, though, that this driver has a history of bad behavior, but since no mention of such conduct was madein the article, I do not know.

I don't like Bush, but that was a stupid and rude act.

You don't HAVE to leave political views at home, but obnoxious politically charged behavior will only cause petty arguement that decrease effeciency. It would be pointless and stupid. Comparing personal restraint of views for the purpose of creating a generally amiable atmosphere to a opressive goverment and society is too much of a stretch.
