Burying yourself

So I was watching an episode of Rick and Morty. They entered a time travel paradox where they discovered former Rick was messing with an invention, when Morty hands him a screw driver and upon turning it a few times the whole damn thing blows up killing them selves. Latter they are shown burying themselves in the backyard.

Wouldn't it both be morbid and sad if you entered some kind of time travel paradox where you had to bury yourself? o_O

At least you could actually cheap out on the funeral...doesn't everybody always say 'I don't need an expensive casket when I'm dead just bury me in a cardboard box. Etc.' And yet that never happens does it ? now it can.

Burying yourself is easy to arrange though it may involve quite a bit of physical labor. Changing your mind after the fact creates some personal challenges.

You have to have some foresight! You dig the hole, okay. Now all the dirt is stuck in a large container above the hole with a remote trigger that empties the dirt. ;)

Speaking of having an imagination. Since the founding fathers are spinning in their graves. Could you perhaps hook an armature up to their grave and create free power?

They entered a time travel paradox

no, it was an alternate world/dimension

they messed up theirs so bad, they abandoned it for one where they just died but everything else was 'ok' and then took over their lives

I dunno, digging the hole would be easy enough but filling it in on yourself might be kind of tough.

I transfer my mind (yes, I have one. Not saying its a sane one, but one that exists ... I think) to a new host and bury the old one routinely.

Ever see Jet Li's "The One"? Multiple earths exist & in one of them, his alter-ego is evil & discovers that by killing his doppelgangers on the other earths, he can become the strongest man alive. So the bad guy goes on a quest to kill himself on every earth. Yikes. Also, 1-minute time machine:

Also, google "teleportation suicide machine"...every time you teleport in Star Trek, you die!

Last season's Doctor Who had a well-written episode with a theme similar to this, but not because of time or alternate reality travel.
