The documentary they made on him not too long ago is very interesting, nothing at all what I expected. Although he was definitely a celebrity, the real Burt lived what seemed like a very miserable life.

I saw the documentary. His ex-girlfriend took him for a ride. But, she was the smart one and he got the short end of the stick.

OTOH, he lived his life the way he wanted. He lived in the woods alone. Free from the trappings of modern day living. Burt didn't even have running water. Yet, he had a few millions in the bank. Was he a miserable old coot? Maybe, it seemed like he had issues with his ex-gf. She took the majority of the money and built Burt Bees into an empire.

How am I supposed to use this to sling mud at the GOP?

Not sure but looks like a good start on some anti-feminist rage up above. Sure someone could go down the women are evil route.

The guy did have money but chose a very simple existence because that is what made him happy. May we all be so lucky in life.
