Burrowing dogs. Anyone got one?

So, onto the subject of burrowing dogs.......

I have a very unique Chihuahua. I have never heard her bark for the entire 8 mos I've owned her. Great little dog. The "little yapper" part is completely out of the equation. She does, however, have this weird little habit. She will wait a few minutes, until I settle down into bed, then she will jump up on the bed, run up on a pillow, then like a rocket, she shoots herself down under the covers, finally nestling up next to me, in a little ball.

Very strange behavior, to say the least. Is this a bad thing? 🙂

chihuahuas do this

we have to leave throws out on the couch etc so it can go under them

she enjoys tanning and basking in the sun too
ours doesn't really bark either except when the other ones do, but if you taunt her enough with fake barks you can get her to howl 😉

..I have 2 Chi's and they both do the same thing. I put blankets in their crates and they burrow under them and get all tangled up. They have to fight their way out every morning. Very alert and let me know when things are out of order.

I absolutely love this dog. She's too good to be real. They are very affectionate, I suppose. 🙂

Why are they in crates? Are you away for long periods?

..they are crate trained and den in their crates. The crates are kept open so they have free range of the house but will return to their crates to sleep.

Our Chillion (Chihuahua/ papillion ) loves to burrow under the blankets but so does our full blooded Papillion, though not as much. Mainly 'cus the much smaller Chihuahua mix does not let him on the bed.

Last week we got our 3rd dog a tiny Chihuahua/ Pomerainian mix, will be interesting to see if she likes to burrow.

Anyone notice, that as small as these little sh!ts are, they have way bigger personalities, than their size?
