Ok, I havent played Burnout Paradise in a long long time. This weekend I popped it in and apparently there was a major overhaul to the game, new start screen, online challenges ingame, and bikes. When did this happen?

While I find the online stuff pretty sweet, I havent fully figured out the motorcycle stuff. I played the game most of the weekend but didnt delve into the motorcycle stuff. Any info from players playing with bikes?

The bike update was back in August/September. I need to get the update and check it out, haven't done it yet myself.

Where have you been, there was a huge thread on this a few months ago :p

Yeah, they added in the Cagney update and then the Bikes update. Bikes are OK, there's no boost but they don't really need it. I think they're adding a "Legendary cars" update or something in the near future.

Official info

I checked out the bikes back when they were first released in September and didn't stop until I completed all of the races (and the bike license). :) Didn't try them online, though.

With the bikes there are 70 new Freeburn challenges, a new dynamic weather system and customizable day/night cycle, and 38 new bike-specific single-player events (all against the clock). There are four bikes, two to start and the other two are unlockable.

It being a free update is a big reason why I love the game so much, that's real gutsy by the devs. Anyone else would've charged $20 for that.

Thanks for alll the info guys. I had shelved this game for months because I didnt have HDTV and the direction map was barely legible on my old TV. I got a HDTV a few months ago and whilst cleaning my living room friday I came across this game and now that I can "see" it, I cant put it down. Its a great game but I guess I missed all the threads pertaining to the bikes because I forgot I even owned the game. I do have to say that Criterion did a great job. I have always been a fan of the burnout games, but when I first got Paradise I was turned off as it went in a different direction, but with the new TV and actually giving it a decent try I cant put it down. Even my son, who hates racing games, was playing it with me this weekend.

I may have to buy this game. I know it's old now, but I'm looking for a cheap game, and I never tried this when it first came out.
