My Nero came with my motherboard, it is apparently "nero express" and only lets me load two types of boot images:

boot images off of a floppy disk

boot images from a list of default by country locations.

What can I do that doesn't involve software piracy?

Nero Express really sucks, don't know if their is a way to get a bootable image any other way except create an image outside nero, then burn it with nero.

Just use autostreamer to make the ISO image. Then burn it with Nero Express, Autostreamer puts the boot image in the ISO for you.

Could use nlite to make a bootable iso, it's free.

Also it looks like Nero Express has the bootable files so the slipstream disc would boot ok.

Their download mirror is down. Can you put the installation file on yousendit.com for me?

Download a trial version of Nero. The full suite. It's a time limited full featured working version.

I like using BCD, (from Barts Bootable CD Collection). Nice easy way, you don't have to build the iso and then burn it, it does it all. I edited the batch file to not delete the ISO so I could back up the ISO.
