I've heard that you avoid Nero when making back ups of your OS CD's & DVD's..
Especially if it is Microsoft..

My friend has a CD of XP Pro which he made a back up copy after buying the original..
He used Nero 6 at that time..
One day the dog got a hold of his original XP Pro and it was damage, by the time he reformat his rig and use the back up copy to install...
There are some files that are missing or can't be read and MS let you choose "Retry, Abort, Ignore".....

When he burned it, he use the lowest speed in burning but still there were errors..

What Burning Software which is good for back uping OS...No to Nero..

That is a full system back up.....

What I meant was back up for CD or DVD...

Especially OS installers...like Windows 95,98,ME,2000,XP & Vista...

I want to back up or make an image copy of my original OS CD & DVD installers..

There is nothing wrong with Nero for making copies of your OS disc. Good alternatives would include Ultraiso and Alcohol.

Blindwrite and Alcohol 120% are usually the recommended programs to make exact disc copies.

Nero may have succeeded, but the computer may have difficulty reading the brand of CDR your friend used (or the burner may have had disagreements with that brand). Taiyo Yuden manufactured discs are highly regarded, Verbatims are also said to be good
