Burning music cd

I know its just a measly 5 minutes i'm missing but it bugs me...why cant i use the whole 80 minute cd? using nero express.

I've had that problem before and it was always the CD-R itself. Have you tried different media?

I would have to agree with groverat. Nero can certainly handle 700mb cdrs (unless it is ver.1 or some such).

once the cd length hits 75 minutes it goes into the "yellow zone" and 80 minutes is the "red zone" what is the point of this?

The yellow zone means that the disc is almost full and you can only add a little bit more to the image before it will be full. The red zone means you are trying to burn more than the disc can hold (or over-burn).

Just to clarify, the yellow zone does not mean that the disc is full and cannot take anything else, only that it is nearly full and you won't be able to add very much more...
