Burning mpeg to DVD

I am making some DVD videos of some of my PVR recordings. I got them recorded at around 2500 bit rate and am ok with this quality. What I was wondering is when I make a DVD with a few shows on it, is it ok to just have nero encode or whatever at 2500 since I could put more on a DVD? Would it hurt quality more or should it stay the same?

Are you looking at doing menus and make a DVD playable in a DVD player?

TMPGEnc DVD Author is what you need. Free for 30 days to try. Also, check the freeware thread in this forum for more suggestions.

Yeah I just want it playable in a DVD player. Whats TMPGEnc do that Nero doesn't? Is it quicker? I am using Nero Vision BTW

I haven't used the latest version of Nero.
In TMPGEnc DVD Author you can create menus and it formats the files so they can be burned with Nero for example.

Just tried it lastnight some. If it works like I think it will this is a awsome little app. Looks like I can cut out the commercials and it looks like it will cut down on about 2-3 hours on each burn. If I am guess right that is.

Thx alot
