Burning Linux to CD/DVD or USB-stick

Have you tested Linux on CD/DVD and USB-stick?
Is one alternative safer (less damaged files)?
I have some CDs with Linux Mint Live (32 and 64 bit) but none of them work with Ryzen.
Is an USB-stick better?

I find USB is more convenient. I can erase and use it for something else after, too. Most computers seem to support USB boot now days, so I don't really bother with burning CDs anymore. I only put a cdrom drive in a machine if I plan to put windows on it.
