Umm, How would a relative noob like me go about this?
Also, regarding heatsink and chipset. How would I remove the heatsink from the chipset? I am thinking of applying arctic silverII, can I clean sink and chip and then apply? Also thinking about using thermaltake ddr ram cooler (either the heat spreader or heatsinks that both come in package). Can I apply A-silverII to the chips on the stick of ram? THANX for the help and AWESOME site!

burning in new cpu? damn, i've never heard of that.

use a screwdriver to get the tab off. be careful not to touch the mb with the screwdriver accidentally.

that's what you're supposed to do.

hmm... that seems like overkill.

(Run all these at the same time)

Prime95
SiSoft Sandra - burn-in test
3d Mark set to look continuously OR Final Reality benchmark with software emulation (not direct3d)

Let it go for 24 hours.

Burning in of a CPU is superstition. I have OCed high and low, and have never found it made a difference.

HOWEVER - It is a good idea to run your system for 72 hours at default speeds so you can make sure everything runs smooth. Then if an OC kills you, you will know its an OC. I see people booting up for the first time try for a 50% overclock. Being that impatient can very easily lead to some fried CPUage.

I ahve no intention of Oc'ing now (cant with cheap board I am getting anyway). My main concern is justbreaking it in, I have Sandra, but not the others. GUess I will have to look for them.
My main question on the Chipset heatsink (not cpu), is that I install the A-silver II directly on the chip? The whole chip?
Thanx again.

Ahh go on. 50% o'c on a Celeron works a lot of the time (66MHz FSB part run on 100MHz FSB).

For stuff like chipset HS's, you want AS epox so it sticks it on there. Works better than the mounting device they usually come with.
