Burning in a CPU

Have not saw too many posts about burning in a CPU. I got Seti for my MSI Pro 2 / Duron 650, and have the voltage set at 1.85. It has run for 16 hours ..30% done.
I read a post that if you run the CPU at a low speed (650 is as low as bios will go) ...and high voltage that it would be easier to overclock after the burn in. I have had trouble getting this one past 800 with the multiplier function.
Anyone else tried anything like this with good results?

some people have reported better overclocking results after burning in... it's possible... for me, i found that after running the cpu at an overclocked speed for a while, i was able to bring the voltage down at that speed, and then squeeze a little more speed out of it by raising voltage again

I will give it a try. It is about half way through now.
It is neat that the temp has not risen past 35, even at 1.85. Maybe it will do some good.
I got the idea from AMDZone's BBS, reading some posts there. There is a definite difference of opinion ...there and here.
If it does any good ...you will be the first to know.

and double check that you only finish 30% on a WU for SETI@home after 16 hours? you should finish at least 1 block and 30% on a second WU...

Unless he has a very low angle range WU and is running the win CLI... then you see that behavior due to a bug they refuse to fix... :|

Ok...help me to understand. I downloaded a program material from SETi, and it runs what I see as cpu time ..(upper left pane)The lower pane shows the frequency chart building and changing. There is an upper right pane ...that says '0' data units completed.
Is this doing anything at all? It looks to be working the cpu ...and is 65% completed.

why people nut about seti and prime 95 to test there CPU. to me the best program testing stab of your cpu is not designe for testing cpu. don't you know what i mean??? for example Flask Programe are supper excellent to test your cpu stab cos this one when your running it . it will eat and drink all your juice that you squire out of cputhere for if your pass this one that mean your supper stab
