Burning DVDS

I was wondering if I need a powerhouse PC to burn dvds. I own a PC desktop, Athlon XP 2100 + with 512Ram and 200GB Hdisk (8mb cache). Do i need more ram to burn dvds efficiently or it doesnt matter at all. And also, is firewire dvd burner better off than internal? im getting a cheap deal on an external firewire drive.

If backing up dvds, a faster system will help you shrink the dvd image faster prior to burning.

The burning process doesn't need that much though. Your XP2100 rig will burn dvds just fine. Ram doesn't really matter, especially since you already have 512mb.

I have been burning DVDs for quite some time with my liteon 411s and i have a 2200+ with 256mb ram runing windows xp pro. works just fine. Also I use DVDshrink 3.1 and that thing is quite faster then the older version it only takes like 20 on average to rip now when before it was like 35 - 40 😀
