burning disc image help

Fenixgoon

Lifer
i want to try halo pc out before i buy it (ive played it for xbox though). so i download it and rename the rars so i only have to extract the 1st one and winrar does the rest. once i hate .r30, the files stop changing to the winrar icon. i extract them anyway and things seem to be fine, 698mb .bin file. is this right? (gotta check, hehe). there was also a 74 byte .cue file. i send these over to my dad's mac (it has the cdrw) and i use toast lite 5.2 to burn a data cd. after finishing, i pop the cd back into my pc and nothing happens 🙁 any reason things didnt work? i've never really done disc images before (let alone on a POS mac!) i wish i had a cdr or rw
thanks

? seriously im just trying it out.. im not some huge pirate, thank you.
all i wanted was some disc burning help, not a flame thread.
the games i play continually (half life, diablo 2 among others) i have ALL purchased

edit: yeah i have burned games, but then again, i never play them. unreal2 definately wasnt worth shelling out $40

Too bad, you'll get a flame thread and like it. Explicit instructions for pirating are not allowed here.

Because making backup copies is legal, as well as loaning a game to someone else (and not using your duplicates while it's loaned out), here's what you should do:

Download a program called CloneCD. It will let you burn a .cue and .bin fileset. After that, you have to be more specific with "nothing happens". Are the files on the CD? Is the CD readable? Something will "happen" only if the CD is in Windows-readable format (meaning ISO9660) and has an autorun.inf file in the root of the disc.

Then you might want to remove everything you've posted in this link...

If toast will open the .cue file then use that to burn the image. Also, you have to burn the .bin file as a disk image (if there is an option in toast for that). If you burn it as a data CD, you will just end up with a regular data CD with a .bin file on it.

the reason i asked is because some people on ATOT said halo was crap, while others have praised it. demos are nice but no one really makes em any more.
