Isn't it $15 per month if you use your credit card? I would imagine that if the game cards were cheaper than $.50/day, people would use them and abandon the credit card method.

About the cheapest you can get gamecards is use a hi $ back credit card and buy from BB as a reward member (and use rz certs back to also buy in the future). Not much appreciable difference than just paying the upfront $29/60 though.
