Burning Cd Roms from Plextor to Plextor problem

I have a 12X4X32 CDRW, a 40X reader, an Adaptec 19160 SCSI card. Using Nero 5.X I can't burn squat. I had this problem before in Win 98SE but was solved by checking the sync transfer in the CDRom's properties. Win 2000 doesn't seem to have this as an option. I tried going into the card's BIOS and setting the transfer rate to 20Megs a sec and that didn't help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated at this point.:|
 
Yup my aspi layer is up to date. I think I figured it out though. I installed plextor manager last night and it seems to have corrected my burning woes.... Thanks for your input though. 😀
