Burning .Bin's in Win XP?

Cynicism

Senior member
apparently, cdrwin will not work in XP, fireburner neither, is there anything else that'll burn my .bin files on XP?

CDRWin does work, I've been using it for since XP came out. You have to put "winaspi32.dll" (I use the Nero one) in the CDRWin folder.

If you can't obtain the cue file one solution is to use a prog like IsoBusters to extract the bin file and then burn that.

Nero does, but you need the corresponding .cue file as well. That may be why those programs aren't working.

Not necessarily. Certain cd burning software (i.e. CDMate) can burn .bin files without the corresponding .cue files. Or as noted above, just use isobuster or winiso to convert the .bin file to an .iso file then burn it with whatever program you have.

I've been burning .bin's with cdrwin since 95, so yeah, I know that they need .cue's 🙂 I thought that was obvious...but anyway, the issue was cdrwin even detecting my iomega 12x cdrw, which it doesn't do, as for nero, I have 5.0, but when I try to "burn from image file", the only choices are .nrg files or .iso...no options for .bin's...

I'll try the winaspi trick, thanks.
