Burning AVI's and watching them on DVD?

Is that possible without converting the files to mpeg first? (It can take 15 hours..)
Is there like an app or a plugin that does that?

Thanks in advance.

no, sorry.

The avi file must be converted.

THe newer versions of NERO automaticlly convert the files for you.
Just drag & drop them onto the vcd template and it will convert them for ya.
This still takes a long time to do. but it make it pretty damn easy to do,.

Well, it's good that they put it in, but the Nero encoder sucks.

Quality isn't too good, it takes a day and a half, and you can't change any settings like boosting the bitrate to get better quality. (default VCD is 1150kbps and looks crappy)

Go read this, and better yet, use SVCD if your DVD player supports it.

TMPGEnc is much faster than the Nero encoder, a full movie takes ~3 hours when converting to VCD. (on an Athlon 900mhz)
