I notice when I go to burn a CD from a .bin/.cue file using CDRWin, one of the options is to use RAW Mode. What are the advantages/disadvantages to using RAW mode? And should I use it or not? Thanks

C'mon, with all the smarties on this board I know one of you can answer this question. I doubt it takes too much of an explanation. Maybe I'm being impatient.

Raw Mode means copying a CD sector-by-sector w/o any error correction while writing or reading. If a sector containing errors is read in Raw Mode, the recorder writes the errors instead of altering 'em with error correction or writing to difference sized sectors. In other words, you theoretically get an exact copy. It's good for getting around copy protected CD's... for backup of course.

Thanks for the reply, but I guess if I'm burning a pre-made .bin file from a .cue file I shouldn't use RAW mode? Since it doesn't use error correction? Or...?
