Burning 80 minute CD's

Are most burners on the market right now capable of burning 80 minute CD's? I'm looking at the Plextor 32X/8X/4X CD-WR and can't find any mention of this in the specs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Any newer models today should be able to handle 80 minute CD-Rs w/o problems. I know the Yamaha can, 😉.

LXi,
After reading your response yesterday about the Yamaha burner, I decided to go out do a little homework. From what I can tell, the yamaha is indeed a great option, just as you stated. One of my friends actually went so far as to say that it was the burner of choice among serious bootleggers...

...kind of hard to argue with that.

Thanx Dude 😀

Alright, you should be happy to know that both will do 80 minute CDs just fine. Let me know when you finally make the choice.

I always use 80min cds on my Plextor 8x4x32 and it works fine. It even overburns a few minutes more I believe but I haven't tried that yet.

Odds are, if its a Plextor, it can do it 😛

I have that Plextor 8/4/32a, and burn (and overburn) 80 min CD's with no problem.

these days, just about any burner should be able to do it, unless you get a real cheapo one. remember you get what you pay for 😉

my Ricoh MP7060a has no troubles with 80mins (and o/b 80mins) at all.
