Burner rejecting media type (cdr)?

Hi.

I just gave a friend a cd burner that I had (Kyhpermedia 48x) and it comes with Nero Xpress. I have never used the software or burner, so I have no idea about this.

The problem is that when she goes to insert a cdr disc into the drive, it rejects it and says that it's not the correct media type. She doesn't have this problem with a cdrw disc however. I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue and I don't know if there is a setting so the burner will recognize cdr's as opposed to cdrw's. She wants to use cdr's, so I don't know what to tell her.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Sal

Some burners just dont like certain media, sad but true.🙁

Maybe try to update the firmware on the drive? sometimes a firmware can allow to burn mode diverse media.

Ok.. So it's a brand of media and not that it's a cdr vs a cdrw. Correct? I'll have to find out what type of media that she's using.

It's a Khpermedia drive and I have no way of telling what kind of drive it is. Can I tell from the device manager?

Thanks again.
