I have a Backpack 4X cdrewriter(parallel port) under win2k, every time I try to burn a disc I have some kind of error during the process. I've notice that at around block(writing track) 94,000 something the error occurs, up til that point everything is going fine then it just stops, adaptec cd creator just locks up. All my drivers are 2k compatible and have no conflict.
 
have you tried nero? it works for me in 2k with a usb burner.
you might also try burning at 1x or 2x and see if it still crashes.
