burner overrun: if the disc plays is it a coaster?

Hello, i just started burning with my new a7v athlon 900 setup and i keep getting overrun problems. the burner is an acer 2/2/6 which worked fine in my old pII 266 without difficulty. i can burn the whole disk but when finished i get a message that errors occured which are burner overruns. if i take the burned disc and use it it seems to work fine.

my setup is as follows:
a7v mobo
athlon 900 not overclocked
128mb crucial
memorex 50x cd rom drive
acer 2/2/6 cdrw drive using ez cd creator cd copier

any help would be appreciated

if it works, then it works. if its music, maybe you tried to fit too much onto the disc
