Burned myself on a wash room vanity light bulb. I brushed my wrist on it while trying to find a handhold to get a good position on the latter. It's now all blistered an hurting. Putting an icepack on it has helped. Dam those small bulbs get hot! Hotter than your average larger incandescent it seems!

No actually this is an incandescent bulb, just one of those small vanity ones. Halogen bulbs are much brighter and hotter yet.

Is it normal for it to be still hurting a lot after an hour? I now have a bubble blister about the length of a penny but much narrower.

Yes.

Second degree burns last a while. Keep it iced and when sleeping apply a oily type first-aid cream and cover it.

EDIT: it's good to keep some over-the counter burn medication laying around (usually aloe vera based) or if you've got a good doctor keep some silver sulfadiazine in the fridge.
I worked for the last 16 years at a job where burns were a way of life. We heated steel to 2250F and squished it into shapes. I always had some medication in my lunch box.

Yah..plus everytime you put it near any heat source it will hurt like a bitch. Getcherself a real aloe plant and break it open. That stuff is better than anything invented by man.
