Burned fuse by overclocking?

I tried to flash the BIOS couple of weeks ago and failed... I had to send my MB to get serviced and replace BIOS chip... The problem is... They replaced the whole board... And I was charged $60 ...
They said my motherboard's fuse was burned...
Is it possible to burn the fuse from the overclocking???
I am not sure if that was my fault... I was supposed to pay $35 for the BIOS replaced and now I ended up paying $60!!!!
Has anyone burned the fuse on the board by overclocking?

I didn't even know there's fuse on mobo. Oh man I think you got burned. You're overclocking CPU's not mobo. I wouldn't pay for it if I were you.

I don't think there are any motherboards with fuses on them. The fuses should be in the power supply. If there was a huge spike or short, the fuse in the power supply would be the first to go saving the whole system. Placing a fuse on the motherboard seems kind of odd. I think the guy was talking out of his back end. Anyway, 99.9% of the time fuses can be replaced easily.

There is a fuse on most mobos, its on the back of the PS2 keyboard connector. Most fuses simply don't react fast enough to protect electronic circuits.

the fuse that blows, is the keyboard fuse, you guys do remember that you are NOT supposed to plug/unplug the keyboard connector or ps2 mouse while the unit is on?

hmm i've done that a bunch (plugging in ps2 mice with the machine on), yeah i'd heard that, yeah, i've never had problems. guess i shouldn't be playing with fire eh?? 🙂

why is that anyway? sounds pretty stupid to me, nothing else gets messed up when you plug/unplug, why is keyboards so stupid?
