I have burned several of my backed up movies in .avi format to dvds. Unfortunately, when I put the DVDs in and try to browse their contents in explorer, the program crashes and I have to end it. I can always see what files are on the DVD, but whenever I try to manipulate them stuff gets screwed up.
If I try to open the files from a program that isn't explorer, like media player classic or vlc, the program freezes.
I have tried copying the entire contents of the DVD to my hard drive by using the right click + copy feature, and everything worked fine for the first five files (nice alliteration!). When it started to copy the actual files I wanted, however, it stopped working. This holds true for multiple burned DVDs, not just one. What is going wrong?
I've been using Nero software for burning what it calls "Data DVDs." I'm using DVD+R media. Any help is appreciated.
