Burned DVD's are unreadable, any way to recover data?

So i've got this huge book full of burned dvd's, and after going through them all i'm finding that easily 80% of them are not fully readable. I've been trying to copy the data to my hard drive off them, but most all of them I get cyclic redundancy check errors and i'm not able to get the data. The dvd's dont seem to be very scratched or anything. Most all of them I just burned and then threw into a 200cd case.

The dvd's are all 8x verbatim DVD-R's with the white printable surface that I bought from newegg. They were all burned on a Lite-On SOHW 1633S.

Anyone know what the problem might be or any way to get the data off the DVD's? It's literally about 150 dvd's worth and i'd be pretty bummed if only 20 of them were good.

If you're talking about movies, then the problem may be the format of the burn. See if you can run a quality scan on those DVDs.

Well, i'm at work right now and it doesnt work here either. The drive i've got at home is the same kind it was burned on, the lite on, and the drive here at work is an NEC. Go figure.

How exactly do you run a "quality scan"?
