Burn marks on CPU pin, and same matching spot on the motherboard

I purchased a package from a fellow AT'er and when I received it there was what looked to be a burn mark on a pin of the CPU and a matching burn where the pin would lay on the motherboard. I thought nothing of it until a few days ago. I don't think it's causing any problems but not being highly technical I guess I wouldn't know how to check it or diagnose it. What do you guys think I should do?

Ever since I got this setup I've had nothing but problems with it, I have thus far received the following errors.

BSOD:
BAD_POOL_CALLER
IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN

This is my setup:
420w 3.3v 24A//5v 40A//12v 19A
MSI PT880 LSR
P4 2.8Ghz
1024Gb Geil DDR400 3200 2.5-3-3-6
Sapphire 9800 Pro 128mb
Hitachi FLB 160Gb SATA
NEC 2510a
Pioneer SD106
SB LIVE! 4096
Linksys Gigabit
3 internal fans

Try to rotate the processor in the socket, so that the burn mark align with a different pin

(JOKING!!!)

i would try and return it that cpu got too hot i bet.
Try to rotate the processor in the socket, so that the burn mark align with a different pin and if that doesnt seem to fit gently pound it in with a hammer

Ok, I tried the rotating it, flipping it, soldering it, fusing it and lubing it but I don't get anythign except this burning smell.

(mu hahaha thanks....)
