I don't want subj. to happen, so, how much cooling is needed? I just picked up this BAD-AZZ rig:
MicroStar Turbo-R and 1 gig. "C" AXIA week 9. My rig is loaded with 512 Mb Crucial sticks (2x256). For cooling I got the Silvarado 50 - and that is the problem... I don't how far I can push it w/o leavin' silent-mode. So my ? to you guys is: Does a 1,00@1,4or1,5 pruduce as much heat as a normal 1333/1300 CPU? I mean - it is a 1,33 gig CPU that just is undercloked, right?

btw. what what can I expect to hit with this "C" CPU?

thanks in advance,

-Peter

No it produces more heat since it's clocked higher and is probably fed high voltage to reach those speeds.

How did you get your Silverado so quickly. There is a 2-4 week backorder on their site. Have you tried it out yet and if so is it a quiet as touted.
Thanks.

Well, I ordered it a long time ago, because of the long shipping period. Now, I'm just hoping that I can run in silent mode at 1500 mHz - less noise is still more important to me than alot of mHz.

So let me get this straight, i wanna ask this without having to put up another thread, If the AXIA thunderbird is older it will overclock better? For example, a week 5 will overclock better than a week 9? And what does the week thing mean?

"Week" is the week it was produced at the plant. Some weeks are better than others. Like when some people have better days than others! :)

The 1.2ghz OC @ 1.4 that I have here is at about 35c under about 8 Hours of load... But thats with a alpha & a 7k rpm delta on it.
