So basically you are saying that you know better than these women on what they should be allowed to wear?

You can say that and not realize that you ARE exactly the kind of man you are propagating against?

Just... heh...

You're such a fucking twat.

The burka has NOTHING to do with religion, its used by men to control them.

You being from England should understand this because there is a big problem over there with sharia law and burkas

You think you are a real liberal, stand for individual liberty? Or are you just a wise and beautiful woman who can't see past his own belt buckle?

I'd love for you to be the former but you've proven yoruself to be the latter when you have consistently defended violent crime against Muslims pepetrated by Christians.

To me it doesn't matter, i'm a TRUE liberal, your beliefs are personal, i don't give a fuck if a woman feels better because she wears a veil, i also am not prepared to outlaw Christian women dressing modestly for Church as per the indoctrination of the Bible.

There are a lot of problems with different faiths, i've brought up a lot of problems with Islam, the difference is that i don't care because of their faith but you do. To me faith is irrelevant and only actions matter.

That said, i'm about to be shipped out in 8 hours and i have time to spend elsewhere, so cheerio and if you don't hear from me i died in Kongo.

When did I ever defend crimes against Muslims by Christians, I never did that. Secondly the religion doesn't require it at all and many Muslims admitted this. As well when radical Muslims want to take over then yes people should speak out against it.

Burqas and Niqabs are generally an expression of the control asserted over women by mens religious interpreteations of Islam.

It's clearly fucked up but it's not something i'll care about until they execute women or throw acid in their faces for declining to wear it...

Oh wait, that happens about once a week...

Not in Canada it doesn't...

And that is why you shouldn't comment on this.

The burka is different because the women are FORCED to wear it and its not even part of the religion. Its a way for the men to treat them as chattel and second class citizens. As well its done so the men dont get sexually aroused by seeing a women in clothes.

I am aware of all of that thanks.

Have you ever talked to someone wearing one about why they do? As in you, yourself, in person, speaking words out loud to a woman wearing a burka?

I have a few times, but not for very long, and not to ask about the burka.

I've read the standard stuff on the internet about how crappy life is for some of these women in Afghanistan etc, and I've read a bit about what it is like in Canada for them too. I know it isn't as bad here as it is there, and can infer that they live under a very male-dominated rule even here.

However, this probably isn't miles beyond some ultra religious christian families here though. Ones where the woman's place is at home with the kids, where she's not allowed to work, where she does all the cooking and cleaning and sewing. She doesn't have to wear a burka, but it's a floral print dress down to mid-calf, with a collar that comes up to her neck and bare arms only in the summer.

But I still don't know enough about the similarities and differences to say we should ban one and not the other. Or both?

I have talked to some of them and most dont want to wear it , many will face DEATH if they dont wear it so they have to.

This has no place in society and it must be banned.

Why won't I attack a piece of clothing? Because I don't do drugs.

This is pretty entertaining.

Listen, You dont understand the seriousness of this.

The burka is forced onto these women by men because they believe they are chattel and not equal. It is not part of the religion, if Christians did this everyone is outraged but if Islam does it then its alright, makes no sense.
